GeForce Next-Generation Kepler Graphics Architecture Most Efficient GPU Ever Built Review

Nvidia is launching the first graphics chips based on the company’s new Kepler architecture, the next-generation offering after the company’s successful Fermi, which hit the market two years ago, GeForce GTX 680 for PC Gamers is Fastest, Most Efficient GPU Ever Built; GeForce GT 640M for Notebooks Puts the Ultra in Ultrabooks. NVIDIA has been working with OEMs to design the most thermally efficient laptop chassis designs possible to best take advantage of Kepler's GPU boost capabilities and Nvidia’s GeForce 600M family includes the vendor’s Optimus technology, which offers longer battery life by powering the GPU only when it’s needed, and Verde notebook drivers to improve performance and stability.

NVIDIA launched the first GPUs based on its next-generation Kepler graphics architecture, which deliver dramatic gaming performance and exceptional levels of power efficiency. The result of some 1.8 million man-hours of work over five years, the Kepler architecture's first offerings bring unprecedented technical capabilities to both gaming desktops and Ultrabooks. For desktop gaming, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 GPU provides a faster, smoother and richer experience. For notebooks, the new lineup of GeForce 600M GPUs puts the ultra in Ultrabooks, enabling smaller, more powerful designs than were previously possible. Both are available immediately. "The Kepler architecture stands as NVIDIA's greatest technical achievement to date," said Brian Kelleher, senior vice president of GPU engineering at NVIDIA. "It brings enormous performance and exceptional efficiency. Gamers will love the GTX 680's performance, as well as the fact that it doesn't require loud fans or exotic power supplies. Ultrabook users will love the GT 600M family for its performance and power efficiency." Kepler is based on 28-nanometer (nm) process technology and succeeds the 40-nm NVIDIA Fermi architecture, which was first introduced into the market in March 2010. A Marriage of Speed and Extreme Efficiency The GeForce GTX 680 GPU brings impressive performance and extreme efficiency to the desktop gaming market, delivering a quiet, smooth, extremely fast experience.

Compared with the closest competitive product, the GeForce GTX 680 GPU is more than 300 percent faster in DirectX 11 tessellation performance and up to 43 percent faster in cutting-edge games such as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, yet consumes 28 percent less power. It also provides twice the performance per watt of the GeForce GTX 580, the flagship Fermi-based processor that it replaces. Setting the standard for future enthusiast-class GPUs, the GeForce GTX 680 is built on an array of new technologies, including:
  • A new streaming multiprocessor block, known as SMX, that delivers twice the performance per watt of previous-generation products
  • Special board components, including acoustic dampeners, high-efficiency heat pipes and custom fins, that create a quiet gaming experience
  • NVIDIA GPU Boost technology, which dynamically adjusts GPU speeds to maximize gaming performance
  • New FXAA and TXAA antialiasing and Adaptive VSync technologies to enrich visual quality without compromising gaming performance
  • Support for up to four separate displays three of them in 3D off a single card for a massive 3D gaming experience
  • Manufactured on TSMC's new 28-nm process, with support for PCI-E Gen 3 and DX11.1

Kelt Reeves, president of Falcon Northwest, a leading producer of high-end gaming systems, said: "The GTX 680 lays down what should be whiplash-inducing speed at the sound of a whisper. Even at full throttle, it doesn't heat up. In the immortal words of Obi-Wan describing a lightsaber, it's 'an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, creators of the award-winning Unreal Engine and billion-dollar Gears of War franchise, said: "The GTX 680 is amazing and completely redefines what an enthusiast-class GPU is. We have already shown outstanding success with the GTX 680, recently presenting our real-time Samaritan demonstration running on it along with a special preview of Unreal Engine 4 for select developers." GeForce 600M GPU Family: Putting the Ultra In Ultrabooks The NVIDIA GeForce 600M family of GPUs, when paired with the latest processor technology from Intel, enables Ultrabook and notebook PC designs that are thin, light and fast. Technological advances that set them apart from the competition include:
  • NVIDIA Optimus technology enables extra-long battery life by automatically switching the GPU on and off so it runs only when needed
  • NVIDIA Verde notebook drivers provide frequent performance improvements and rock-solid stability
  • NVIDIA PhysX engine support brings games to life with realistic physics
  • Optional NVIDIA 3D Vision technology automatically converts more than 650 titles into immersive 3D
  • Optional NVIDIA 3DTV Play software connects 3D Vision-based notebooks to 3D TVs
  • NVIDIA SLI technology links two NVIDIA GTX GPUs up to double gaming performance

"The Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3 brings a superior level of performance to the Ultrabook category," said Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product marketing at Acer America. "With a GeForce GPU onboard, our thin and light Ultrabook does everything our customers want it to do, with no compromises." Rene Haas, general manager of notebook products at NVIDIA, said: "Customers are about to see notebook manufacturers unveil a host of Ultrabooks that are truly worthy of the 'ultra' moniker. The Bad Of The New iPad 2012 : Overheating and Charging Problems ?

Many people glorify to The New iPad, many people are increasingly curious about how is the new iPad. So many great people willing to buy an iPad 3 (New iPad). But not everything is perfect. The new iPad you yearning longing is not necessarily satisfactory as ye wish. In addition to these advantages, there must any te bad to be found in an the new iPad. So, before buying an iPad a good idea to know what is the advantages and what is the bad of the new iPad.

For example for the bad of the new iPad, The following comments were taken directly from Apple's iPad discussion boards:
Received my new iPad today and I love the new screen...but right off I noticed that it gets really-really hot.  I have the original iPad and have used it for hours at a time and it has never, ever got hot.  Is this normal?  I don't like it...it makes the iPad hard to use for a long period.
There's some debate as to what is causing the overheating.  If you browse the forums, users are saying it's everything from not using a leather case, to the screen being too awesome, to the processor being more powerful, to the 4G having to use so much power.  The battery has increased from 25W to 50W, so a bigger battery probably produces more heat.
In some cases, the iPad has gotten so hot that an error screen appeared, stating that the iPad needs to cool down before you can use it.
In addition to overheating problems, users have also been complaining about long and slow charge times.
I have had my shiny new iPad plugged in overnight with its included iPad charger. I have just woken up and it's only at 39%!!!
Other people complained that it only charges 1% in 20 minutes, with a lot of customers stating that it's a genuine issue that needs to be addressed immediately.  One of the theories to the charging issues is:
Seems after some serious testing its very clear apple should have (or should now in the future) release a better charger.  One that speeds up times but also crucially allows it to be heavily used while still getting a decent charge.
Maybe it is the charger.  The iPad continues to get more and more powerful — might be time to make a better charger, Apple.  If you're experiencing any of these problems, I recommend taking it to a Apple store so one of their "Geniuses" can help you out.  Don't let them tell you that the overheating is normal; make them give you a solution.

The New iPad 2012 Countries Availability

The new iPad, or iPad 3, released today in 25 additional countries, just a week after the original launch. This is the first iPad to offer 4G LTE wireless, and so we were naturally quite eager to load up Speed Test and see what it could do. For those looking for the full-on review effect, the new iPad is still a slinky thing.

Sure, its 9.4mm thickness won't win it any awards (especially since that's .6mm thicker than the iPad 2), nor will its 652g (1.4-pound) heft (51g / .11 pounds more than before), but it feels neither big nor heavy. It instead feels substantial. Dense. It's carved from a hunk of aluminum and there's a cavity in there where the (now bigger) battery and other internals reside, but if you didn't know any better you'd think it were completely solid. To know more get The New iPad 2012 if that has available in your country.

According to Gamezone, The third-generation iPad went on sale internationally at 8 a.m. PST, officially become available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

“Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad, including the stunning Retina display, and we can't wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday," said Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, in response to the successful initial sales of the iPad 3.

In a press statement released a few days after the new iPad's release, it was revealed that 3 million units of the new iPad 3 were sold in only four days, making last Friday's launch the most successful on yet in the device's history.

The new iPad is available through the Apple Online Store, Apple's retail stores, or select Apple Authorized Retailers. The price of New iPad is difference depending on countries to provide.

Floating Touch Feature on Sony Experia Sola

Interact with the Xperia Sola without even touching it

The new Xperia™ sola announced earlier today, includes a brand new touch sensor technology, called floating touch, that lets you interact with the phone without even touching it

There are two types of capacitive sensors used for touch screens, mutual capacitance and self-capacitance. Mutual capacitance makes multi-touch detection possible. Self-capacitance generates a stronger signal than mutual capacitance, which allows accurate detection of the finger further away from the sensors. However, with self-capacitance it is not possible to perform multi-touch detection due to an effect called “ghosting”.

Mutual capacitance makes multi-touch possible
With mutual capacitance, each intersection of a line in the illustration above forms a parallel plate capacitor. This means that each intersection is a sensor, which allows for true multi-touch since the position of each finger can be exactly measured.

However, because the area of the intersection between two lines is very small, the electrical field of the sensor is also small. Since the field of the sensor is so small, the signal from it has a low strength. This makes it poor for sensing very small signals, like when the user’s finger hovers above the screen.

sony experia sola image
Self capacitance and the ghosting effect
Looking at the graphs above, each X or Y line as whole is a capacitive sensor, in the case of self capacitance. This means that the sensors are larger compared to the mutual capacitance described above. The large sensors create strong signals, which make it possible to detect the user’s finger up to 20 mm above the screen.

When a finger is on or just above the screen, the nearest sensor lines are activated (X1, Y0). If two fingers are detected, ghosting positions occurs since four lines activated. As you can see in the graph above, this gives four possible touch positions (all four activated intersections of X1, X3, Y0, Y2 in the illustration), and the correct combination is unknown. This makes multi-touch impossible.

Combining self and mutual capacitance to allow floating touch
Floating touch™ is solved by running both mutual capacitance and self capacitance, on the same touch screen, at the same time. Mutual capacitance is used for the normal touch sensing, including multi-touch. By running elf-capacitance at the same time, we can detect a finger above the surface of the screen.

However, since the floating touch™ technology depends on self capacitance, it is not possible to perform multi-touch gestures with the fingers hovering above the screen. However, multi-touch will work fine for the normal touch gestures on the screen.

The technology has been developed in cooperation with Cypress Technologies. By leveraging on the existing capacitive touch sensor, and lowering the threshold for touch registration, it will be possible to differentiate between floating touch™ and “normal” touch. All Android™ applications will work perfectly fine, just like before, and only the apps that explicitly “listen” for floating touch™ events will react to them.

iPhone 5 Screen 4.6 Inch with Retina Display Report Says

Once the issues The New iPad uncovered, now have new issues emerged about the arrival of the iPhone 5. A lot of rumors about iphone 5, and one of the rumors that circulated from a trusted source is about iPhone 5 screen will present bigger screen.

Apple is purportedly already placing orders with suppliers for a 4.6-inch iPhone Retina display, Reuters said today, citing a report in South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper. The phone is due in the second quarter, according to the report.

If accurate, that would be Apple's third device with a Retina display. The others include the just-released 9.7-inch iPad and the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S.

The 960-by-640-pixel Retina display on the iPhone packs in 326 pixels per inch while the new iPad's 2,048-by-1,536-pixel screen squeezes in 264 pixels per inch.

A relatively massive--for a smartphone, that is--4.6-inch glass screen would be a big step for Apple from the 3.5-inch iPhone. A larger phone may also allow Apple to include updated chips such as the A5X. That chip's marquee feature is quad-core graphics.

By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD has a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen.

Apple enthusiast site MacRumors says the likelihood of the rumor being true is low.

"There have been persistent rumors that the next generation iPhone would carry a larger 4-inch screen. And we are convinced that Apple had exactly such designs in late prototype stages in China," said MacRumors.

Indeed, there were reports before the launch of the iPhone 4S that Apple was working on an iPhone with a bigger screen. But those reports predicted a phone measuring 4.2 to 4.3 inches, not a full 4.6 inches.

This review is actually from: Samsung SyncMaster P2450h, Samsung SyncMaster P2450h
Widescreen Touch of Color LCD Monitor - Rose Black (Individual Computers)

I recently purchased this monitor for my daughter to incorporate alongside her MacMini. It is a truly pricey hunting monitor with excellent controls plus image. Samsung SyncMaster P2450h I work for a printing company with regard to their imaging department then I would definitely state which for the entire cash it is actually a top notch monitor. Your needs would be hard pushed to locate anything better at this price.

The packaging came with the correct cables and also I was able to be able to hook it about the entire MacMini with no issue at every one of the. I function alongside color images all day long plus I could not discover anything I dislike alongside this monitor thus far.

Because for the actual reviewer whom posted that the particular monitor's base had been fixed, they either upgraded it or even the poster did not install it right given that I ended up being capable to tilt it backwards and forwards. I'll state that its equal to my Mac 23 inch Cinema and / or even better at a fraction of the the cost.

This particular review is from: Samsung P2450H 24-Inch Widescreen Touch of Color LCD Monitor - Rose Black (Individual Computers)

I is going to maintain it brief and also to the actual point. I upgraded from a Dell 22" LCD screen 1680x1050. A lot of people will imagine oh definitely not this big difference, wrong. The particular picture standard on this particular screen typically is amazing. quite sharp well-defined and brings out true hues.

Movies are really fantastic actually more aged games such as FSX search 100% much better than it did on the older supervise. Fairly bright takes a little that would attain make full use of to be able to i more than likely really should turn it down. This supervise shows precisely what my Asus GTX480 online video card is truely capable of i am surprisingly especially pretty happy.
Because for the actual stand, its certainly not shaking as i kind as well as its definitely not going to be able to fall over even in the event i dance about the particular personal computer desk. I dont see exactly how it differs from any alternative monitor i currently have. Dont provide out damaging reviews becuase the intentionally shaking the particular screen or perhaps a person didnt place the particular stand together correctly and additionally it wobbles.

When a interested in a enthusiest  Samsung SyncMaster P2450h, Samsung SyncMaster P2450h monitor for gamingg, simming, movies then multimedia compared to is the particular right monitor thank us samsung as well as [...] becuase i got it method cheaper.

The results of our responsiveness tests were conclusive – this is a true 2 ms panel. You can expect fluidity even in fast-moving action games. Office applications will be child’s play for the P2450H. In the OSD, you can boost the Overdrive even more to try to improve the response time. I’d advise against it, however, because it will cause strong reverse ghosting (if you’re not familiar with that term, take a look at the inset in our review of , which explains the phenomenon and its causes.)

If you’re a fan of multiplayer gaming, the P2450H is also well suitedfor the  Samsung SyncMaster P2450h Its average input lag of one frame is too slight to impact your session, regardless of the type of game you’re playing.

Samsung UN46D6000 BestTVs

The D6000 Range- no 3D but plenty of Features

Available with 40", 46", 55" and 60 inch screen sizes.
If you are not interested in 3D, the D6000 range has almost everything that the Samsung UN46D6000 BestTV srange has to offer except for a web browser and a qwerty remote control. There is also no micro-dimming.
The 46 inch model is a very affordable online (true on March 12 when last checked). You will have to buy your own 3D glasses with these models.

The trend in TVs is towards bigger screens, smaller profiles and interactive features that mean thousands of new viewing options. Samsung TV's are well placed to offer some of the very best choices in 2012.
Every year, electronics makers unveil their latest innovations at CES (the consumer electronics show). Last year, Samsung took a big step closer to ditching the bezal- that frame no one wants around a TV. There is more screen and less TV on display than ever before.
In 2012, the most eye catching arrivals were a 75 inch LED, a 55 inch OLED model and a 4K prototype. The 4K, if you haven't caught the hype, is a new, very high definition category which uses 4 times as much information as a 1080p display to create a crystal clear image.

The 75 inch LED will be available later in the year and should appeal to many buyers. The thinner and more discrete TV's become, the more desirable big screens become. Even a 75 inch screen will not overwhelm an average sized living space.

The OLED model is reckoned to be due late in the year with a staggering price tag of around ten thousand dollars. OLED displays are gorgeous but large screens have so far proved hard to make economically.
The 4K model should arrive this year too but the lack of movies and TV being made to the exacting standards of 4K will probably mean it won't appeal to many buyers for a few years yet.

Most of the advances that will impact consumers- apart from more and more affordable big screens- will probably be in the area of internet ready features. Smart TV's are getting ever smarter and there are more and more TV apps from Samsung appearing all the time.

How to Choose the Best Samsung TV

720p or 1080p?

720 and 1080 are the number of lines in the screen display. The more lines, the higher the definition. Samsung TVs with 720p displays can still be found and buying one can save money. Even so, 1080p is pretty much standard if want to get the most from HD broadcasts and videos. Save the 720p for the kids...

Slim profile and a great picture. The colors are very vivid and set up was a breeze. Replaced a Plasma and what a difference in quality, and if your hanging on the wall you won't get a hernia picking this TV up to hang it. Very easy to use and since we men don't like to read instructions this was ready made for DIY guys. Wife happy with the purchase from the moment she saw the picture quality. Very pleased!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

I had a Samsung plasma and switched to the LED. The picture is put standing. The only issue is it takes a little to long for the Smart hub to load. That could be rectified with a software update.
Great TV.

The Best Games For The New iPad 2012

Those of you purchasing the new iPad from Apple today will be glad to know that developers have already released a set of best games for your new iPad. This post is meant to be a companion to the several other 2012 iPad app guides we’ve got already – don’t be surprised if one or two games appear here as well as there: they’re just that good.

We’ll be beginning with a racing game you might already be familiar with, enhanced this week to bring you up to full Retina quality speed. Expect this kind of excellence soon from other racers, but for now here is The Best Games For The New iPad 2012 stands utterly alone in its HD-quality:

Real Racing 2 HD

This game is available for the iPad only at the moment, the HD quality being just one of the fantastic new features you’ll have working in this newly minted version 1.13 of the instantly classic top-fuel game. This game will cost you a cool [$2.99 to download now] and you’ll never look back. Yellow cars go faster, always remember that.

Order & Chaos Online

This game is no less than a full real-time 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game made to work fantastically on your iPad. This game brings on a fabulous fantasy world of magic, mayhem, and the occasional team up for quests in the Lower City dungeon. Fans of such epic games as Diablo and World of Warcraft beware: such greatness on the iPad awaits! This game will run you [$6.99 on the App Market] if you buy it now!

Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation

This game offers you not only first person shooting in as high definition an environment as you’re ever going to find outside the PC, it also brings you Airplay gaming at a full 720p – you’ll want to pick up a new Apple TV to make this happen as slick as possible. The app itself will only cost you [$0.99 for a download] and you’ll be able to play on your iPhone as well!

Mass Effect Infiltrator

For those of you that like to massacre your opponents with high-powered weapons but aren’t able to get into the first-person-shooter genre, there’s the third-person-shooter as well! This game takes the highest definition graphics you’ve ever seen in such a game and slaps them down on the new iPad as well as the iPhone for [$6.99 for hours of adventure] Don’t forget to duck and snipe!

Infinity Blade II

The Infinity Blade series has been recommended by Apple in each of its iterations since the iPad 2 first showed its fantastic ability to work with its A5 dual-core chip like a boss all the way back 12 months ago. This version of the game is the pre-cursor to Infinity Blade: Dungeons, another game you simply must download and play to get the full iPad experience. High definition finger-swiping sword battles await for [$6.99 and worth every penny]

And there’s more!

You’ll want to head back to our Gaming on the new iPad pre-preparation post for a few more suggestions as you stock up for the summer, and of course check out our [iOS App Review Portal] for a selection of applications that cannot be beat.

The New iPad 2012 Video Review

There's none of the flex or the give found in cheaper slates. That solidity certainly helps explain the premium feel, but buyers will have to decide whether that feel is worth the extra space in their messenger bags, or the extra strain placed on shoulder straps. That is, needless to say, quite healthy.

The New iPad 2012 Video Review by The Verge

The New iPad Video Reviw by WT1 :
What's in a name? Or, more importantly, what's in a digit? Would that which we call an iPad by any number less than 2 be less sweet? That's the question Apple posed for us indirectly when it unveiled the new iPad and relegated its future slates (and, presumably, phones) to a numeral-free future. And that new slate? It's much the same as the old one, with a slightly more chipper processor at its (quad) core and support for both Verizon and AT&T's fancy new LTE networks.

But there's one bigger change here, one that will ripple across the industry as each manufacturer struggles to keep up in this ever-accelerating market. That feature is the iPad's new 2048 x 1536 Retina display. It's the best display ever featured on a tablet, probably the best display ever on a mobile device, but is that enough to keep this tablet ahead of the pack? Believe it or not, the answer is yes.

Price of  the New iPad is start at $466
