Activate Face Lock Feature Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The famous Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first Android 4.0 phone that has the latest Google software matched up with the Samsung hardware.

This phone is available in the U S on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network. It is the first device to have the unique Face Unlock, which uses state-of-the-art facial recognition technology to unlock the phone.

It also has a 4.65” Contour Display with a true high definition (720p) resolution HD Super AMOLED screen. Its special lightning-fast dual-core 1.2GHz processor was combined with a 4G LTE or HSPA+ technology. Other features that set it apart include the Android Beam, Live Effects, zero-shutter lag, a deeply integrated Google+ experience, and a new People app. Galaxy Nexus is also available in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Korea and Japan. Soon, it will be available in Australia, France, Russia, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere!

How to Activate Face Lock Feature Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Before setting up the feature on the Galaxy Nexus I’m testing, the phone warned me that Face Unlock isn’t nearly as secure as using a numeric passcode—and indeed, there’s always the possibility of a false match if someone who looks “similar” to you sneaks a peek at your handset. In other words, don’t protect your phone with Face Unlock if you’ve stored military secrets on it.
So, ready to use your face to unlock the Galaxy Nexus? Here’s how you do it.
  1. Go to the Settings menu and tap Security, Screen Lock.
  2. Tap the Face Unlock option to see the litany of notes and caveats about the feature (including the assurance that your stored profile picture will be “kept private” on your handset). Ready to continue? Tap “Set it up.”
  3. Next, you should see … well, yourself. Hold the phone until your face fits in the dotted outline; once the camera thinks it has a good shot of your face, it’ll snap a photo automatically. (For the best results, Google advises taking a Face Unlock photo indoors, where it’s not “too bright or too dim.”) Once you’ve made it to the “Face Captured” page, tap “Continue.”
  4. So, what happens if your Android phone can’t identify you through Face Unlock? Well, you’ll need a backup PIN or a security “pattern” to trace on the phone’s touchscreen, which you’ll be asked to set up once you’re done snapping photos of your face.
That’s it! Now, time to test. Lock the Galaxy Nexus, then press the “sleep/wake” button and hold the handset right in front of your face; the phone should unlock itself within seconds of ‘seeing” you.

Take multiple Face Unlock photos of yourself in different conditions—say, with your glasses on and off, or both outdoors and indoors—to give the phone a better chance of identifying you correctly. Just go back to the Settings menu, tap Security, then select “Improve face matching.”

The Bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus Part II

In my previous post, I have written about The Bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus in size design which I think it's too big for me. Compared to other phones, The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the biggest phone in America. At 5.33 by 2.67 by 0.37 inches, with a whopping 4.65-inch screen, it's dangerously close to a tablet.

But it's just the latest in a line of almost comically huge, or at least huge-screened phones coming to market. The Motorola Droid Razr has a 4.3-inch screen, but it's about the same size as the Nexus. The Samsung Galaxy S2 for T-Mobile has a 4.5-inch screen and measures 5.11 by 2.71 by .37 inches—shorter, but wider. The HTC Titan packs a 4.7-inch screen into about the same body size.

The Bad Of Samsung Galaxy Nexus II
Next.., Here is other, the bad of samsung galaxy nexus in poor battery life. I think.

the bad of samsung galaxy nexus in poor battery life

If you thought I was a power user, you were wrong. I am simply the average smartphone user putting a phone through, in my opinion, average use. Don’t get me wrong, I knew 4G LTE battery life was bad, but to be perfectly honest, I was not expecting the experience to be this bad.

For four days, I kept a close eye on my Galaxy Nexus’ battery life. Friday and Sunday, I used it without the extended battery and on Saturday and Monday I used it with the extended battery on board. Without the extended battery on, I was able to pull down somewhere around 10-11 hours of battery life. With the Galaxy Nexus extended battery on, somewhere around 13 hours.

To me, this Bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus is unacceptable. This is a phone I paid over $400 for. That price included the cost of the phone itself, the extended battery and a bunch of tax.

At this point, I should not be paying that kind of money to be a test subject in Verizon’s little 4G LTE rat race. I touched on not wanting to be a lab rat over the summer and I thought that Verizon and the manufacturers would have solved this problem by the end of the year.

Guess not.
I thought that they would have been solved in the two month gap between announcement and release.

Guess not.

The Galaxy Nexus is not the first 4G LTE device to hit shelves. Nope, that accolade belongs to the atrocious HTC ThunderBolt that needs an extended battery the size of a brick just to hold an average charge. That’s unacceptable too.

Both instances are making Apple look extremely smart for not pushing out an LTE iPhone in 2011.

So, like any normal person, I’ve gone in search of a way to improve battery life, beyond my own knowledge. One trick I saw was to switch the phone to 3G and use it on Verizon’s 3G CDMA network.

Look, if I wanted a 3G phone, I would have bought the Droid 3 or the Droid X2. I forked over and will continue to fork over a ton of cash to Verizon for 4G LTE. I want to use those speeds without them destroying my experience with the phone.

And again, I am an average user.

Just I say, one of The Bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus is poor battery life. It's their fault.

Now, it’s possible that this is going to be fixed with an update somewhere down the road. There are whispers of a kernel issue that keeps the phone awake, even when the screen is off.

Maybe that’s the case.

But at this point, while the Galaxy Nexus is a home run in the world of Android, it’s more like a double or a triple in the world of smartphones.

I would understand if I were a power user seeing this kind of battery life, you know, using Netflix or playing a game every second of the day, but at the end of the day I’m not. I’m just someone that would absolutely love to get a full day, maybe even 20 hours, out of his smartphone and at this point the Galaxy Nexus doesn’t give me that.

And to me, that’s unacceptable, especially when this is a device that has a $300 price tag and the Nexus name attached to it. This Bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus I did not expect before.

How to Install Android 4.0.3 on Samsung Galaxy Nexus

How to Install Android 4.0.3  : What version of Android currently your gadgets? Merely a day after Verizon's version of the Galaxy Nexus was gifted with v4.0.2, Google itself is announcing Android 4.0.3, a so-called " incremental release of the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform." We're told that the new release includes a variety of optimizations and bug fixes for phones and tablets, as well as a small number of new APIs for developers.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
For those curious, the new API level is 15, and some of those new ones include social stream API in Contacts provider, Calendar provider enhancements, newfangled camera capabilities (apps can now check and manage video stabilization and use QVGA resolution profiles where needed) and accessibility refinements (improved content access for screen readers and new status and error reporting for text-to-speech engines). Moreover, we're promised minute improvements in "graphics, database, spell-checking, Bluetooth, and more." Finally, the company makes clear that going forward, it'll be "focusing its partners on Android 4.0.3 as the base version of Ice Cream Sandwich," with rollouts expected for both phones and tablets in "the weeks ahead."

Google has announced that it's rolling out Android 4.0 to GSM Nexus S devices "over the coming month," but it should surprise precisely nobody that Android users have figured out a way to download and manually install the update immediately. Android Central details the steps, which follow the tried-and-true Nexus method of downloading the full ROM image to your desktop, renaming it to "update.zip," transferring it to your device, and then hopping into the bootloader by holding down power and volume up from a powered-off state. That is way How to Install Android 4.0.3

The ROM download comes straight from Google, you'll be pleased to hear. If those instructions sound daunting, Google will get you a simpler over-the-air update soon enough, but if they don't, the full instructions and download links are in the source links below.

As with the update Google is rolling out OTA, this one only applies to GSM variations of the Nexus S, so Sprint users will need to wait a bit longer. This ROM is actually the latest and greatest 4.0.3 version of Ice Cream Sandwich, which Google has said will be the "base version" of Android 4.0 going forward.

The bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus Part I

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the latest product from Samsung. Success with other products such as Samsung Galaxy Tab and Samsung Galaxy Note, now Samsung presenting Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Nexus is inserted in series variants galaxy, so named Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

For those of you who've tried samsung, more or less already know the advantages and ugliness. But for those of you who are planning to buy a new samsung products, you also need to know these advantages and disadvantages. By knowing it your shortcomings will be able to anticipate and do not regret it later.

Here is an example of The bad of Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I already looking for some Samsung Galaxy Nexus  information and compare the advantages and it's badness .

The Bad Of Samsung Galaxy Nexus I
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the biggest phone in America.

The Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile has a 4.5-inch screen and measures 5.11 by 2.71 by .37 inches—shorter, but wider. The HTC Titan packs a 4.7-inch screen into about the same body size.

Are these phones too big for the human thumb? Most phones should be usable one-handed—at the very least, you should be able to swip down the notifications bar and check your messages. I got a dozen PCMag staffers to measure their thumbs, hold the Galaxy Nexus in one hand, and try to check text messages by dragging down the phone's notifications bar.

Of course, it matters how you hold your phone. There are two main grips: with the bottom corner of the phone against the pad below your thumb, and a sort of crosswise grip with your hand across the middle of the phone. But ideally, you should be able to span the screen one-handed no matter how you're holding the device.

The six female staffers we measured generally had thumbs 5-6 cm long. There was a wider range with the men; they had thumbs 6-9 cm long.

None of the ladies could span the Galaxy Nexus's screen with their thumbs. For them, operating the phone meant shifting it around in their hands; a few gave up entirely on trying to pull the notification bar down.

The men had better luck. The threshhold for comfortable use seemed to be having a 7-centimeter thumb, which four of our six men had. My thumb measures in at about 6.4 centimeters, and I definitely had some trouble using both the Galaxy Nexus and the Motorola Droid Razr one-handed.

When is a phone too big? Is the Galaxy Nexus too big for you? Tell us in the comments thread below.

But you must also know the advantages of Samsung galaxy Nexus. What it is ? Wait at my next post :-)
