Google Glasses Price, Video Demo and Release Date

Google Glasses img
New tech to change the world: Google Glasses. Google knows that it’ll take some education before we’re all wearing Google Glass headsets, and so the company has kicked off what it’s called Glass Sessions: slices of real life augmented with Glass. First up is persistent video and camera functionality from the perspective of a parent, with Glass being used to capture fleeting moments and share milestones across continents. Check out the video after the cut.

Laetitia Gayno, the mom in the video, is the wife of a Google employee, and shows how she uses Glass to snap photos of her baby without the camera getting in the way. Meanwhile, she can use Google+ Hangouts for group video calls with her family back in France.

Google’s focus with Glass has, in public demonstrations at least, been concentrated on the photography elements of the wearable. That’s arguably the easiest thing to show off; without seeing what it’s actually like to have a small virtual display “hovering” just above your normal line of vision, justifying the value of Glass’ other mediated reality abilities is considerably trickier.

Google Glasses Price and Release Date

Last week, Google began taking preorders for Google Glass Explorer Edition, the first generation of developer devices, which are expected Google Glasses Release Date to begin shipping in early 2013. Google Glasses Price at $1,500 – though with the expectation that the consumer product will be considerably cheaper – they’ll give developers the opportunity to experiment with bringing their apps to persistently-connected users.

Camera Canon Cinema EOS C500 Specs and Price

It's been a few months since we've last seen Canon's first Cinema EOS model, but the Camera Canon Cinema EOS C500  has a look and feel that seems to be only subtly different from the C300.

It is noticeably heavier, likely due to the additional cooling gear on board to accommodate 4K shooting. Both flavors include dual CF card slots, which you'll only be able to use for snapping 1080p video, 4K is fed to an external recorder through the dual 3G-SDI ports, which for obvious reasons you won't find on the C300.

EOS C500 has been designed to focus motion picture. This camera can be used in digital production industries which is good for high resolution. This camera can capture video with sampling rate of 4:4:4. It supports12-bit RGB 2K capture as well.

Camera Canon Cinema EOS C500 Specs

  • EF and PL mounts
  • 120 frames per second
  • 2K footage
  • 2,048 x 1,080 pixels resolution
  • 12-bit 4:4:4 sampling
  • HDMI port facility

Camera Canon Cinema EOS C500 Price

Further details regarding the Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL digital cinematography cameras – including specifications and pricing – have yet to be decided, although preliminary plans are for a suggested list price of approximately $30,000+. Plans also call for these new products to be launched later this year.

In addition to targeting a swift launch of these cameras, Canon will continue to enhance other components of its Cinema EOS System product lineup, which is designed to contribute to the continued advancement of tools for visual expression and the development of cinematic culture.

Nokia 808 PureView Review : 41 Megapixel Super Camera

Nokia 808 PureView Review : Nokia 808 is one of new smartphone 2012 by Nokia included Nokia Lumia 900. I think Nokia 808 PureView is first mobile phone with 41 Megapixel Super Camera. You can see Photo and Video Samples taken with Nokia 808 PureView here.

Nokia 808 PureView Review

Design

Design Nokia 808 is slim, The Nokia 808 PureView sports a rubberised finish and is available in a choice of colours, making it look more like a rugged handset, rather than a range-topper.

The rubber finish adds a nice bit of grip, and while the phones fits reasonably comfortably in the hand, it's quite chunky, particularly at the thickest point, where the camera lens protrudes slightly. It's certainly not a slimline phone, so if you're looking for a svelte model, then this probably isn't the phone for you.

Camera

The big draw here is the 41MP camera. This sort of megapixel count hasn't been seen on a phone before, and is usually limited to medium format pro cameras. The Carl Zeiss lens is teamed with Nokia's pixel over-sampling technology, which has been designed to produce sharp pictures, even in low light conditions, along with the ability to save the images in compact file sizes for easy sharing.

A high megapixel count doesn't necessarily equal good picture quality, so it remains to be seen whether this will be a huge improvement on the N8, but we certainly look forward to testing it our for ourselves.

Features

As well as the camera, the Nokia 808 PureView also offers Dolby headphone technology, along with Nokia Rich Recording Mic tech for catpuring sound with as little inteference as possible. We weren't able to test either of these features on the busy, loud Nokia stand at MWC but we'll certainly be putting the phone through its paces when we can get our hands on a full review, sample.

Screen

The Nokia 808 PureView sports a 4-inch screen. As the phone is being sold on its impressive camera, you might've expected to see a slightly larger screen on which to compose your shots, as well as a resolution higher than the 360x640 that's on offer. Having said that, images are clear and hues are bright and punchy so we can't complain too much.

Performance

The single-core 1.3GHz processor is decidely mid-range, but the UI appeared to operate relatively swiftly, although we found that the camera took a couple of seconds to boot up -not a great start for a handset that's being sold on the basis of a strong camera performance. Battery performance is good. Its strong for super camera 41 MP. For Nokia 808 Specs details here

Nokia 808 PureView Price
According to reliable sources close to Nokia this smart phone will be launched in May 2012 with a fair price tag. It is reported that the price of Nokia PureView 808 will be priced at 450 euros and also $602 when it is made public. So, Nokia 808 PureView Price price around : Nokia 808 PureView Price in India is Rs. 30.000, Nokia 808 PureView Price in USA is $602 and Nokia 808 PureView Price in UK is EUR 450

Nokia 808 PureView Photo and Video Samples

Nokia makes tantrum world on smartphones and photography with the presence of Nokia 808 PureView. To prove 808 action shots please download Photo Samples and Video Samples original take by Nokia 808 PureView below.

Nokia has announce the Nokia 808 PureView. This is our first smartphone to feature our exclusive new PureView technology, which completely blows away any prior expectations about the quality of camera phone photography.

Nokia 808 PureView captures over 5x more light. Under normal lighting conditions, performance is also enhanced, as this combination allows for faster shutter speeds, reducing the effects of camera shake.

The Nokia 808 PureView features a 41-megapixel sensor with our highest performance Carl Zeiss optics to date and Nokia’s brand-new pixel oversampling technology.

The excellent camera performance also extends to video. The camera allows for 1080p recording at 30fps, with 4X lossless zoom thanks to the big sensor and powerful image processing which handles over 1 billion pixels per second.

Sorry, did you just say 41-megapixels?
"Yes, that’s right. But this combination isn’t about shooting pictures the size of billboards! Instead, it’s about creating amazing pictures at normal, manageable sizes. There’s a combination of benefits." http://conversations.nokia.com

Nikon D700 Price March 2012

According to the Nikonrumors.com, In March, the price of the Nikon D700 will drop to $2199.95 in the USA. This is $500 reduction from the Nikon D700 Price curent $2,699.95.

Nikon D700 Price in Europe was already reduced few days after the D800 announcement. The Nikon D700 will be available for sale at least for few more months, maybe even till the end of 2012 (considering that the D90 is still listed on Nikon USA website and available for sale).

Nikon D700 Specifications :

12.1 megapixels | 3" screen | Full frame sensor

Essentially a D3 shrunk down and squeezed into a body roughly the same size as a D300, the D700 shares the acclaimed 12.1MP full frame ('FX') sensor as the D3 and has the same processing engine, so we would presume output to be almost identical.
Nikon D700 Camera Image
Nikon D700 Camera Image

The main differences (aside from being considerably smaller) are physical; there's a different shutter (good for 150,000 exposures rather than 300,000 on the D3), different viewfinder prism (with 95% coverage) and a slower burst rate.

You also lose the rear LCD info panel (there's no room for it) and one of the D3's two CF card slots, but you do get a couple of extra features to soften the blow slightly; most notably a self-cleaning sensor and a built-in flash. Unsurprisingly the D700 produces excellent output that is very similar to the D3’s.

The D700 offers an enormous, almost five stop RAW headroom that allows you to even pull back highlight detail that has been blown out beyond recognition. The D700's most obvious strength though is its high ISO performance.

It's the combination of the huge photosites on the full frame sensor and Nikon’s very sensible approach to noise reduction (heavy-handed on chroma noise and much more lenient on luminance noise) that lets you (within limits) take usable pictures up to a sensitivity of ISO 12800.

Are you interested for Nikon D700 ? Nikon D700 Price March 2012 in USA maybe $500 reduction from the curent $2,699.95.

Glidetrack Mobislyder Portable Dolly Track For Smartphones Review

A wheeled camera dolly can add smooth tracking motions to your smartphone opus, but if you were hoping to include a dramatic vertical reveal, you'll need the Mobislyder which instead uses a smooth ball bearing track system and it designed specifically for use with smaller cameras, the Mobislyder includes articulated mounts that either screw into the thread mount on the underside of your camera, or clamp onto thinner devices like smartphones. The mounts swivel around so that the glider track can be used at any angle and it weighs just over a pound for amateur auteurs on the go. The example videos show off smooth tracking shots that would be difficult or impossible to achieve by hand and the Mobislyder is currently available for preorder for $135.

MOVE OVER Spielberg and Tarantino, the cinematic style of big movie making has gone viral with the launch of mobislyder, the world's first portable dolly designed specifically for smartphones and compact cameras. The mobislyder, a new innovation from Glidetrack, the world's leading camera slider company, is set to revolutionise mobile device video production. Stylish and ultraportable, the mobislyder has been designed from the ground up to suit a broad range of small video-enabled devices - including iPhone, Android smart phones, smaller DSLR cameras and mini camcorders. As video on demand becomes the medium of choice for businesses and individuals the mobislyder provides professionals and amateurs alike with the ability to create cinematic-style shots. "For years sophisticated-looking camera moves were only available to professionals with big budgets and truck loads of gear. But now, with most camera devices capable of shooting HD video, mobislyder allows operators to take smooth tracking shots fit for the big screen -all with the sweep of a finger," said Alastair Brown, the 43-year-old UK entrepreneur who founded Glidetrack in 2008. The name Glidetrack has now become synonymous with these types of cinematic gliding moves. There are literally thousands of user videos on YouTube and Vimeo created by people using the equipment to enhance the quality of their productions."We have been working on creating a smaller Glidetrack-style piece of equipment suitable for mobile devices such as iPhone and compact cameras for some time but until now the video quality wasn't quite there," said Alastair. "However, with the development of the iPhone 4S and other new generation devices capable of shooting full high definition video we fele the time was right to launch the mobislyder."

The new device, which retails at around £129 ($175 USD) but is being made available at a special launch price of £99 ($135 USD) in the run up to Christmas, is perfect for special occasions such as weddings, concerts, holidays, sports events, social media news reporting and even corporate promotions and PR videos. With more than 200,000 videos uploaded to YouTube and in excess of 1 billion views, every day the demand for good quality user generated content on the web is booming, especially among companies getting to grips with the value of video. Various surveys into the impact of video suggests news releases with video links have a 300 per cent higher retention rate and 500 per cent more views than text only versions. Products promoted with video have reported increased sales of between 17 per cent and 36 per cent. According to the latest industry figures total online video views are on track to grow by some 20% from 640billion last year to around 770billion this year while paid-for online video revenues will reach in excess of $3bn (USD). And with experts predicting sales of smartphones to exceed more than 450million worldwide this year volume is set to increase even more. However, the more videos there are the more demanding and selective viewers are becoming. "The days of shaky video being posted online are gone. People are becoming more demanding about what they watch which means companies or individuals need to improve the quality of their videos and mobislyder can help them do that," added Alastair. "We see mobislyder as becoming the industry standard piece of gear for Ebay sellers, Amazon product videos, Bloggers - in fact anyone wanting to get high quality video on their site without breaking the bank."

Fujifilm has launched its latest X series camera, the Fujifilm X-S1, billed as the reinvention of the bridge camera, which packing a 12-megapixel sensor, 26x optical zoom and up to 10fps continuous shooting, the X-S1 has both an adjustable 3-inch display. The XS-1 sports a Super Macro Mode for focusing down to a rather intimate single centimeter and the X-S1 will also record H.264 full HD (1920 x 1080) video at 30 frames per second. Fujifilm X-S1 will be available for £699 in the UK in February of 2012 and pricing fhe US has been revealed at this time.

Fujifilm X-S1 12-Megapixel Camera

The Fujifilm X series of premium cameras has a third model, the X-S1, due for UK launch in February 2012. The XS-1 represents a new breed of bridge camera. Featuring a Fujinon 26x optical zoom lens through to the EXR sensor technology found in the X10, the X-S1 puts the photographer in control. The X-S1 is the ideal camera for the safari and travel photographer – offering superb image quality, extensive zoom range and superior handling. The centrepiece of the X-S1 is the superb Fujinon 26x optical zoom lens. Offering a range of 24-624mm (35mm equivalent) it caters perfectly for every photographic need and features a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture at the wide-angle setting. This optical range is boosted further by Fujifilm's Intelligent Digital Zoom capability, which effectively doubles the focal range without the drop in picture quality traditionally seen on older digital models As a result, the X-S1 offers users an incredible 52x zoom range of 24-1248mm (35mm equivalent). Optically, the Fujinon lens comprises 17 glass elements, which includes four aspherical elements and two ED lenses, to deliver images with superb edge-to-edge sharpness and amazing clarity. The lens' construction is also of the highest standard, featuring metal cams for smooth zoom control and fast, precise framing. The X-S1 is also ideally suited to capturing subjects close up. In standard mode, the zoom focuses down to 30cm, but by selecting Super Macro Mode, users can focus down to just 1cm for frame-filling close-up images. Furthermore, the lens' aperture is made up of nine blades for excellent bokeh effect photography. The X-S1 features the same 2/3-inch 12 megapixel EXR CMOS sensor as the X10 which guarantees high quality images regardless of the lighting conditions. The unique EXR CMOS technology pioneered by Fujifilm allows the user to switch between three modes – High Resolution, Wide Dynamic Range and High Sensitivity/Low Noise - depending on the lighting conditions or leave the camera to make its own choice in the Auto EXR mode.

Fujifilm X-S1 12-Megapixel Camera

Coupled to the EXR CMOS sensor is a Fujifilm high speed EXR processor, which offers a minimal shutter lag of just 0.01sec and a high speed continuous shooting capability. The X-S1 also takes high-quality movies. It captures Full High Definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) video with stereo sound at 30 frames-per-second. The X-S1 offers a powerful combination of high quality electronic viewfinder and rear LCD, with the 0.47-inch electronic viewfinder (EVF) featuring 1.44 million pixels for superb image clarity with a wide viewing area of 26 degrees to reduce eye strain. The rear mounted high quality, tiltable three-inch LCD screen features 460,000 pixels to make it easier for users to scroll through menus, assess exposure accuracy and view images. The LCD also offers a useful Daylight mode that overcomes the problem of viewing the screen in bright conditions. The X-S1 offers a superb level of functionality whether users want to make picture taking as simple as using a compact or as involved as a fully-manual digital SLR. For simplicity, the X-S1 will assess the subject and then select the relevant scene mode for the perfect result, automatically switching the EXR CMOS sensor accordingly. The XS-1 can also calculate whether an image contains a person, features backlighting or has any subject movement. ISO settings are taken care of too by the Auto ISO mode. Photographers after full control are well catered for with the X-S1. The camera offers a full range of conventional shooting functions (program/aperture-priority/shutter-priority/manual), plus users can also fine tune levels of colour, image sharpness and tone. Additionally, the X-S1 provides four auto bracketing options, eight Film Simulation and white balance functions and a Raw file format. Due to be launched in February 2012 in the UK, the X-S1 will have an estimated selling price of £699.

Canon XH-A1S Highlights
Genuine Canon 20x HD Video Lens III with Professional L-Series Fluorite
The XH A1S comes with a Genuine Canon 20x HD lens that shows why the name Canon is synonymous with optical excellence.

Canon reserves the L-Series designation for its highest quality photographic lenses. The Professional L Series Fluorite lens of the XH A1S ensures outstanding resolution, contrast and color reproduction, and delivers clarity and image quality you won’t see with conventional optical glass lenses. And, because it’s an ultra-low dispersion (UD) lens, chromatic aberration is reduced for brilliant results.
The XH A1S’s design gives you equally impressive operational performance. The design lets you operate the zoom using the lens barrel ring, the control on the camera’s grip, or the control on the camera’s handle. When using the zoom ring on the lens, you can control the speed of your zoom by varying the angle of the ring, or by varying the speed at which you rotate the ring. When using the grip control, you can zoom at 16 different speeds; or you can use the control to operate at a single zoom speed which you preset. When using the handle zoom control, you can operate the zoom at a single speed which you preset. You can also select high-speed zoom to increase the zoom speed when using either the grip or handle control. And, because the lens is designed with a zoom ring, you can operate zoom, focus and aperture using a single hand.
This f1.6 – 3.5, 4.5 – 90mm lens gives you a wide view that – at its widest – is equivalent to a 32.5mm focal length lens on a 35mm camera. It also comes with two built-in ND filters, and can be enhanced with an optional wide converter to meet all your needs.
SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer

The XH A1S also comes with Canon’s innovative SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), which combines gyro- and image-sensors to give image stabilization through a wider range of camera motions. Some image stabilization systems correct one type of camera motion or vibration better than another. But Canon’s SuperRange OIS corrects for a wide range of camcorder motion: the fast vibration you’d experience while recording from a moving car; the medium-speed motion of hand-held recording; and the slower motion of body sway. No matter what you’re recording and how you’re recording it, the XH A1S’s stabilization design corrects camcorder shake instantly. In addition, optical stabilization keeps your shot steady without a loss in image quality – something that can’t be said for electronic image stabilization.

SuperRange OIS in action

Three 1/3-inch Native 16:9 CCD Image Sensors
The XH A1S is equipped with three 1/3-inch Native 16:9 CCDs (1.67 megapixels)–the same image sensor that is at the heart of Canon’s exceptional XL H1S and XL H1A. They deliver outstanding picture quality, highly accurate color reproduction, and a wide dynamic range with virtually no color noise.
Canon DIGIC DV II HD Image Processor
DIGIC DV II HD is the next generation of Canon’s exclusive DIGIC DV signal processing technology. Designed specifically for processing the immense volume of information in 1080i HD signals, DIGIC DV II ensures optimal image quality for HD video.
Tonal reproduction has been increased for high image quality. Color reproduction has also been enhanced for improved color image quality – especially in skin tones, and dark and light scenes. The DIGIC DV ll processor also employs a new, hybrid noise reduction system that integrates two types of noise reduction. This, along with a new gamma system, reduces noise in monotone and shadow areas especially, for high definition images that are crystal clear.
The XH A1S captures 1080 High Definition resolution video at 60i, 30F or 24F frame rates (or, 50i/60i with optional upgrade). It captures a true 16:9 widescreen HD image that’s made for your broadcast and theatrical projects.
Complete Customization
Image, display and the functionality of the camcorder can be customized to suit your preference or application. This customization ensures that your XH A1S fits your creative, production and personal needs and preferences exactly. Settings can be saved to memory for easy retrieval or downloaded into other XH A1S and XH G1S camcorders via an SD memory card.
Image Control

A variety of image control functions gives you as much or as little exposure control as you want, and lets you fine-tune your exposures for outstanding video. You get Total Image Control, Exposure Lock for re-composing your shot after setting your exposure, AE shift (+/- 2 levels), Gain Setting, 2 Custom Keys, as well as:
  • 7 Program AE Modes A variety of AE modes allow you to take as much or as little control of exposure as you need. Auto and Full Auto modes let you concentrate on your subject and the composition of your shot rather than exposure, or make it easy to maintain exposure during shots with lighting conditions that change. Manual lets you control every aspect of your exposure manually. With Tv priority, you select the shutter to match your subject; for example, you might select a shorter shutter speed for a fast moving subject. With Av priority, you select your aperture; for example, you might want more control over your depth of field. Spotlight gives you the optimal exposure for a brightly lit subject against a darker background. Night mode automatically adjusts exposure parameters to give you the best image possible of video recorded at night.
  • 9 Custom Presets With the XH A1S, you can make set a variety of image quality adjustments and store them for later use or for exporting to other camcorders. The adjustments include: hue, color gain, sharpness, setup level, color matrix (Normal/CINE1/CINE2), gamma (Normal/CINE1/CINE2), auto knee/knee, black (normal/stretch/press), G gain, B gain, R gain, NR1, NR2, coring, master pedestal, horizontal frequency adjustment, H/V balance, and matrix settings (R-G/R-B/G-R/G-B/B-R/B-G).
Custom Functions

With the XH A1S’s Custom Functions capability, you can establish the camera settings best suited to your preference. Three custom functions (C.Fn1, C.Fn2 and C.Fn3) are provided. Each custom function allows a total of 21 main items to be selected. All three custom functions can be recorded on a memory card, and can then be downloaded to another camcorder. Items include: Shockless WB/GAIN, AE Response, High-speed Zoom Setting, Focus Ring Response Characteristics, Ring/Dial Operation Direction Settings, Subject Distance Unit Setting, Color Bar Display, Remote Control Codes, and Tally Lamp Settings.
Fine tuning of Gain can be made from 0dB to 18dB, in 0.5dB increments. And, with the +36dB Hypergain function, images can be captured even in the most challenging lighting conditions.

Custom Display

The Custom Display function lets you set 22 display items to create a custom menu to suit your specific needs. Once set, the functions can be recorded on a memory card, and can then be downloaded to another XH A1S or XH G1S camcorder. Items that can be selected include: Record Programs, Camera Data 1, Camera Data 2, Zoom, Focus, Neutral Density, Image Effects, Focus Assist Function, Customize, Recording STD, DV Record Mode, Frame Rate, Tape, Tape Remainder, Tape/Card, Light Metering, Card, Card Remainder, Audio, Condensation, Battery, and Wireless Remote.
1080 HD Capture with 60i, 30F, or 24F Progressive frame rates

The XH A1S delivers 1920 x 1080 HD, with the three Native 16:9 CCDs and the Genuine Canon 20x HD lens and DIGIC DV II Image Processor. They ensure that the XH A1S delivers the superb, high-quality High Definition video with vibrant color, crisp contrast and great detail – what you expect from Canon HD. The XH A1S also offers a full range of choices in selectable frame rates. You can choose between 60i, 30F progressive and 24F progressive settings to achieve just the look you want.
  • 30F Progressive Frame Rate In addition to the standard interlaced video frame rate of 60i, you may choose to set the XH A1S to capture video in 30F (30 progressive frames, recorded in 60i) which is ideal for footage which will be uploaded to the Internet. It is also an excellent choice for capturing fast action shots and sporting events. In addition, this setting gives enhanced quality to still images captured after recording.
  • 24F Progressive Frame Rate This setting gives a “film look” to the footage you record as the video frame capture rate is 24F, giving the appearance of the same frame rate as movie film.
60i / 50i Video Frame Rate Option

With the XH A1S’s versatile open-architecture approach, you can even customize your HD camcorder to record in both 60i and 50i (this optional upgrade must be performed by a Canon Factory Service Center).
Industry-Standard Connections & Terminals
The Flash Accessory Shoe of the XH A1S supports Canon EX Series Speedlites, enabling you to use the proper lighting accessory to provide the illumination you need for practically any subject in any situation.

A robust 6-pin IEEE 1394 terminal is provided on the XH A1S to provide enhanced durability when using external devices, and an external EVF monitor output terminal is also fitted to allow the use of a component external monitor for more accurate image composing and video review.

Audio System
The two built-in XLR Terminals with independent audio level control on the XH A1S helps you to record audio at as high a level as your video. They provide phantom power and 3.5mm microphone and headphone terminals. With independent audio level control, you’ll be in better command over the sound you record. You can simultaneously use the built-in microphone of the XH A1S and the XLR input, with individual sensitivity settings for each channel. The XLR sensitivity setting is selectable, from -12dB through +12dB. Line output level switching is provided, along with an audio volume lock to help prevent variations in the recorded sound.

Monitoring
To assist you in making sure that the shots you see are the shots you get, the XH A1S has a number of enhancements in function monitoring. They include a display of remaining recording capacity when using an external Focus Enhancements FS-CV Hard Disk Drive Recorder, as well as an external EVF Monitor Output Terminal.
Operation
Improvements have been made to the manual zoom, manual focus and iris ring on the XH A1S to further enhance its operability and which make it even easier to achieve your creative vision.
  • Zooming Responsive manual zoom ring with three settings (Slow, Normal, Fast), Three preset zoom speeds (Slow, Normal, Fast), Increased weighting of zoom ring for smoother control, Smooth zoom start and stop, Selectable rotational angle of zoom between Wide and Tele
  • Focusing Manual focus capability during zoom (in both Manual Focus and AF Modes), Selectable response on focus ring (Slow, Normal, Fast), Focus Limit (On/Off), Four selectable focus preset speeds
  • Iris Ring Improved ring design for better performance is an extremely useful function on the XH A1S. The manual iris adjustment ring allows you to adjust your f-stop with the same hand and in the same manner as you focus and zoom. You can thereby control all aspects of the image with your fingertips, while keeping the camcorder steady. In addition, the Iris limit is selectable.
Instant AF

With HD, focus is more critical than ever. It demands Instant AF: the next generation of auto focus, designed with HD resolution in mind. Because HD resolution is higher, focusing time is longer – it’s harder to find perfect focus. Canon’s Instant AF combines an external AF sensor with Canon’s legendary auto focus system for fast and accurate focus. Together, the two sensors reduce focusing time – even in low-light, low contrast, or high brightness situations – and improve focusing performance on difficult subjects.
The XH A1S gives you a choice of two AF modes for different shooting applications:
  • Normal AF changes focus at a speed that appears natural and doesn’t distract the viewer
  • Instant AF changes focus as rapidly as possible and is designed for applications in which quick focus is more important than other considerations – for example, in news gathering or documentary work
Additional Features

  • SD Memory Card/MultiMediaCard Slot (for storing custom presets, custom functions and photos) allowing the sharing of XH A1S Custom Preset files with other XH A1S’, as well as Canon XL H1S, XL H1A and XH G1S camcorders
  • 2.8-inch Widescreen LCD and .57-inch Widescreen EVF provide you with bright, high-resolution views. The LCD gives approximately 207,000 pixels and the EVF, 269,000. The LCD and EVF can be used at the same time, giving both cameraperson and director a view of the action. The LCD stows in the camcorder body when not in use, and can also point forward for self-portrait work.
  • Still Image Shooting capabilities turn your XH A1S into a valuable production tool for storyboarding, continuity and publicity shots, and other applications. You get single image shooting, continuous shooting, high-speed continuous shooting, histogram display, AEB, image quality selection, print order, protect, slide show, and index display. And, digital still images can be recorded in either digital color space or video color space. Image sizes are 1920 x 1080, 848 x 480, 1440 x 1080, and 640 x 480. Still image shooting records images to a MultiMedia Card or SD Memory Card. Metering modes include center-weighted average metering, evaluative metering, and spot metering.
  • Support for 9 languages including: German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, English, Chinese (simplified), and Japanese.
  • Analog-Digital Converter lets you use your XH A1S to convert the analog signal from your TV, VCR or analog camcorder to digital. Or use your XH A1S as a signal converter by connecting it between an analog device and another digital device.
  • Level Shot and Grid Marker features make it easy to keep your camera level or compose your shot with precision. Simply press the Level Shot Control button, and a horizontal marker appears in your viewfinder. Line up any horizontal lines in your shot – such as the horizon – to the marker and you can be sure your camcorder is level. The Grid Marker feature lets you compose your shot accurately in relation to a precise grid.
  • Built-in XLR terminals (2) supply phantom power (+48 dB) and can be switched between LINE and MIC.
  • External Microphone Holder lets you attach an external microphone to your XH A1S.
  • Internal Battery Compartment

The three - 1/4" ClearVID CMOS Sensors provide stunning detail and precision, while a 20x Optical Zoom Carl Zeiss Lens maintains image clarity. Since the HDR-FX7 records video in high-definition, you can dual record still images at the same time. So no matter what the occasion, the HDR-FX7 is the perfect camcorder for the situation. A Sony developed Real Time MPEG Encode/Decode system with reduced energy consumption and compact size to fit inside a personal camcorder. This provides efficient MPEG2 compression, and recording and playback of clear HD images at the same bit rate of the DV format, so that High Definition video can be recorded on the same cassettes as are used for MiniDV recording. From the authority in lens technology, the Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens provides a high-quality 20x optical zoom which maintains image clarity and color while reducing glare and flare. Dual independent zoom and focus rings provide precise and detailed control over the amount of zoom and the overall focus of the image with just a turn of the rings. Fast, intuitive framing when zooming, and finely detailed focusing is easy with the natural "feel" of the rings. Easily adjust the amount of light entering the lens by adjusting exposure brightness in accordance with the iris and gain. The Iris control allows the volume of light to be adjusted (shutter speed and gain are adjustable). Though not small enough to carry with you to Disney, this camcorder opens up new opportunities for serious amateur and semi-professionals to record videos suitable for play on new widescreen HDTV sets. An IEEE1394 iLink port is provided for easy transfer to a PC or Macintosh for professional editing applications.

Sony HDR-FX7 High-Definition Handycam Camcorder

High Definition on MiniDV Tapes with HDV
The HDV format used in the HDR-FX7 allows high definition recording on standard MiniDV tapes! This is accomplished by using the very popular MPEG-2 compression technique used in many applications, including DVDs.
ClearVID 3CMOS Technology
Sony's ClearVID sensors are positioned at a 45° angle. Since each pixel is positioned at this angle the result is far clearer diagonal lines. Images will appear crisper, without the apparent "jaggies" that often plague video signals.
HDMI Output
Many consumer products are adopting High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) connections for transmitting uncompressed digital HD video signals. Sony incorporates this into an already extensive array of video output choices on the FX7. Simply hook the camera up to your HDTV via this interface and view all your footage the way it was meant to be seen: purely digital!
Small and Lightweight
The FX7 has shaved off a few pounds in comparison to its big brother, the FX1, weighing in at less than 4 lbs! Not only will users be able to take this feature-rich camera almost anywhere, the reduced arm strain enables longer shoots.
Optical Stabilization
Sony has incorporated the sophisticated Super SteadyShot® optical stabilization system on the HDR-FX7. This technology helps users achieve glass-smooth shots even when conditions are less than forgiving.
Expanded Focus Assist
Focusing high definition can be very difficult on smaller LCDs. Their size makes it very hard to discern whether a scene is completely in focus or not. Sony's answer to this phenomenon is to give users the ability to zoom in; by localizing a segment of the frame, verifying focus becomes worlds easier.
20x Carl Zeiss Lens
The 20x lens fitted to the FX7 can be very useful when subjects are further away, such as when shooting live events and sports.
Precision Focus and Zoom Controls
The FX7 features both a zoom and focus ring capable of making precise adjustments while having the tactile feeling of manual controls.
Highly Customizable
Buttons can be mapped to a variety of different functions on the outside of the unit, allowing users to customize the camcorder for their specific needs. This can be very useful, especially if different situations demand several user-defined controls being readily available.
