YouView Internet TV Opportunities

Some industry watchers have said that the subsequent launch of smart TVs with similar features may weigh on demand. However, Ian Watt from Enders Analysis added that it should still help the ISPs involved, giving them another tool to discourage customers switching to rival's all-in-one packages. BT recently agreed to pay £738m for 114 Premier League football across three seasons from 2013.

How To Get YouView TV

YouView TV will be made available in two ways:
  1. From retailers with no further subscription payments necessary. They will begin stocking set-top boxes later this month.
  2. From internet service providers (ISP) as part of one of their broadband packages. BT and TalkTalk - who are among the service's backers - said they would shortly unveil packages which would include additional content.

YouView Internet TV Cost

According to BBC News, YouView internet TV would cost £299, but added that he would not be surprised if that fell to £99 in a couple of years.

AC Ryan Veolo Features and Prices

AC Ryan is such a company, originally that company specialized in FANS and colorful LED lit upgrades for your customized PC, A.C. Ryan. They bored into a new market roughly a year and a half ago with a new marketing team, and that brought along good success with AC Ryan Veolo features.

AC Ryan Veolo features, The First generation Playon!HD series was reasonably good, the new series 2 with the new version 2.0 GUI is sincerely good, to date I use one of these units myself.

But the market is continuously changing though, the biggest trend last year was tablets, Android entered the market and that certainly changed the balance of smart phones. The concept proves that you can do a lot of stuff with very little hardware, yet it remains intuitive with AC Ryan Veolo features.

With that concept in mind AC Ryan started developing a new media hub slash player, in fact I shouldn't call it a media-player really as it is much more than that. The end product is called the Veolo.

The Veolo is AC Ryan's version of a media 'HUB' powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo).

Being based on Android you are obviously freed from a somewhat sluggish Realtek chip and software. Next to that the Android platform offers TV functions including a full Web browser with support for Flash and even HTML5 at AC Ryan Veolo features.
AC Ryan Veolo

With Android comes downloadable apps, widgets from the 'AndroidPIT' app center and heck, even Android games could run. That's right, Angry Birds in 1080P !

The hardware side of things doesn't suck either, you'll notice features like Gigabit Ethernet and (included) Wireless-N connectivity. Meanwhile a 1GHz processor (ARM Cortex-A9 ) and 512MB RAM pledge fast functionality. There are two USB ports and an SDHC slot available too, to add extra storage. No embedded HDD though, this really is intended to be a streaming media device.

These high-speed interfaces should provide smoother 1080p MKV movie playback via an HDMI output. What makes this kit special is the included 3-in-1 remote control, as it acts as a wireless motion controller, keyboard and mouse for easier text input and navigation. You'll literally be pointing towards your telly as if it was a touch-screen.

AC Ryan Veolo features :
  • Internet TV web browser, with HTML5, Adobe Flash & Chrome V8 JavaScript support

Apple Smart TV Features

Apple TV is not the only device that allows you to do these things, however, it is the only one that grants you the ability to play items that have been purchased from iTunes. So even if you miss an episode of one of your favorite shows you can purchase the episode from iTunes and you are good to go! There are many Apple Smart TV Features.

Following sources' claims that Samsung Electronics and Sharp will manufacture chips and displays, respectively, for the so-called Apple "iTV," (Apple Smart TV) others have suggested that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) and Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) have the potential to win orders for Apple's smart TV with new features.

Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) likely will obtain assembly orders for the Apple smart TV, according to industry sources.

Apple is expected to finalize hardware standards of its TV at the end of second-quarter 2012, and will place orders for the customized chips and other components directly with its contract manufacturers - same as what the CE vendor does with iPads and iPhones, the sources said.

Apple's new smart TVs will be rolled out by the end of 2012, the sources indicated.

Apple Smart TV Features

1 Siri

Using Siri by talking to your TV to go to channels or record your shows to iCloud is a great feature. Also this defines use of the Quad A6 Processors that enable apps to run in the background. Apple using iOS 6 multi-threading of the processors. Siri is artificial intelligence now if Apple integrate its Genius features from iTunes, Siri will be able to recommend TV Shows and Movies you like. Learning curve is zero as to most knows how to use Siri from their iPhone 4S. Here’s a feature: Siri to play music from your playlist on AirPlay in the Kitchen. Yes Siri remote will not be infrared but instead Bluetooth 4.0 since it has range of 100 meters. This give room to move freely versus a limited infrared red remote that we have been use to.

2. iTunes 11:

Utilizing new introduction of 1080p Movies from iCloud with 24-bit audio multi-channel audio. Whether from its HDMI but also output through a later version of AirPlay courtesy of iOS 6. This would enable streaming multi-channel audio possibly to either an updated Airport Express or a new model all together. Expect New AirPlay Receivers from manufacturers. Apple will not do streaming as they do not do with current iTunes Match expect the content to be stored on locally on its own storage. Since Flash memory has been purchased in volume from Apple I expect 32GB possibly 64GB.

3 App Store:

This will be the game changer here. New 1080p Apple TV apps including games. Now developers will have zero learning curve for this platform. Why? It just a simple update from developing iPad apps. Look at the iPad resolution itself, it has 1024 x 768 resolution. Some can say 768p resolution.

With Apple Smart TV Features, Now add that to their knowledge of the iPad 2‘s 7X graphic processing power. Gotta keep in mind the cost of current Apple TV is $78 if you gut it for core components it may be $69 total components including a Quad-Core A6 Processor. What can make gaming on this Apple Smart TV exciting using the iPhone 4S to say the least. Why iPhone 4S not iPhone 4 or iPod touch or even the iPad 2? One overlooked technology by everyone that Apple has included in iPhone 4S chipset, Bluetooth 4.0. See Google brags about Near Field Communication chip in their phones but that technology has extreme limitation and software developer is unilateral to credit card processing. Bluetooth 4.0 on the other hand has more openness to developers. Bluetooth 4.0 is Low Profile Efficient with a range of 100 meters from using Wide Bandwidth Channels similar to 802.11n.

With Apple Smart TV Features Think of new sports games like Madden NFL ’13 playing on online or even one on one with a friend and you can pick your plays on your iOS device by Bluetooth 4.0. This idea not totally unique as 2K Sports have done this with NFL 2K on Sega Dreamcast but back then it was done on VMU (Virtual Memory Unit) that had to be plugged into a wired controller. Apple technique will be done wirelessly on Bluetooth 4.0 via iPhone 4S, iPod touch (6th Generation) and iPad 3.

Developers can utilize dual data streams or dual displays as they do now with AirPlay. Also surely Apple would use their Bluetooth technology such as wireless keyboard, Magic mouse and Magic TouchPad. Also manufacturers will make game controllers for Apple TV as well. Using iOS version of iWork on your Smart TV to do a schoolwork while watching college football is a unique experience. Games will be the ultimate driver as to be expected. Just imagine Chair Entertainment’s graphical beauty, Infinity Blade on Apple’s 47″ TV in 1080p resolution. Keep in mind Game Center is going to be updated to take advantage of Apple Smart TV features as well including Siri basic feature for selecting a game to launch well as pausing a game.

With Apple Smart TV Features, Also a optional feature that Apple CEO Tim Cook decision to include capability of putting the iPhone 4S on a Bluetooth Personal Area Network with the TV to enable linked iPhone functions where it would automatically pause your game on the TV when you get a phone call or use Siri on TV’s remote to initiate a phone call on your iPhone by voice. Keep in mind MacBook Air and Mac mini are Bluetooth 4.0 they can be linked to share functions with the TV possibly using the TV as a wireless second display for the Mac mini or MacBook Air.

Specific Program Package

This will be the most difficult to pull off with TV Networks. Imagine paying monthly for the TV Shows and or Networks you really want. Me I would get HBO, Showtime, Sy-Fy Channel and WB Network. I don’t care about News I can catch that on my iPhone 4S or the next iPad 3. I’m sure sports fans would have their specific game channels or possibly NFL Network. Don’t know if there will be a NBA Network. LOL! Now this is going to take some serious negotiating because Apple in a sense would be come a major network provider overnight. If Federal Government can hold Comcast, AT&T, Verizon and other broadband companies to net neutrality rules where people just get broadband internet ONLY packages then Apple has potential with this. It would change America as they did with iTunes where people can buy songs that they want.

5 Accessories:

Why this would be significant? Bluetooth 4.0 still backwards capable with Bluetooth 2.0 devices like keyboards, mouses, PS3 controllers, wireless headsets or headphones. Still there’s another decision based on cost to include Thunderbolt input. There’s a reason why the late Steve Jobs chose to make this open standard compared to FireWire for other companies and it wasn’t just about computers most had assumed. Everything Apple has been doing is migrating people to its new product one feature at a time. Siri as a Beta was step one.

6 iAds and Siri featured suggestions

Now let’s talk major advertisement revenues from iAds and Siri search placements. Now think how much companies will pay for iAds and premium prices for top placements. Now let’s talk Siri related placement. Siri related placements? Yes you haven’t figured it out when they announced a demo of the iPhone 4S with Siri. Look at the companies that’s related to Siri searches can you imagine what CNN would pay Apple to integrate it’s multimedia content well as increasing their revenue for subscriptions? It can be across the iOS board even or the TV.  So, There are some about Apple Smart TV Features.

What is Apple TV ? Apple TV sets to come in 3 sizes, says reports

What is Apple TV? For many people, it is a sleek, charismatic little box that allows you to deliver all of your digital content directly from your Mac or PC to your high definition TV. With the Apple TV, it makes it simple to access your favorite movies, music, tv shows, and pictures on your TV.
Apple TV is not the only device that allows you to do these things, however, it is the only one that grants you the ability to play items that have been purchased from iTunes. So even if you miss an episode of one of your favorite shows you can purchase the episode from iTunes and you are good to go!

What is Apple TV – The Menus of Apple TV

Settings – This allows you to customize your screen saver, put your Apple to sleep, and adjust audio and video qualities. If you prefer to turn off the home sharing feature, just go to the “Computer” section and, wallah, it’s gone.

Computers – This is where you can link to any computer on your network. IT will allow you to use your TV as a computer monitor. Also gives you the ability to share anything on your hard drive.

Movies – The menu has numerous options. In the “Top Movies” tab you will find movies that can be rented from $1.99 to $4.99. The “Genre” tab allows you to search by category like Drama, Comedy, Action and more. The “In Theaters” tab is a bit misleading. You cannot actually watch movies that are playing in theaters, but it allows you to see short previews of movies that are currently playing in theaters.

TV Shows – This tab gives you a list of TV Shows and TV Networks. This is where you will go if you missed an episode of your favorite program.. Here you can also find categories and genres to help narrow your selections down.

Internet – Within this tab, you can surf over to Netflix, YouTube, Podcasts, MobileMe, Flickr, and even listen to the radio. The radio is a great feature as you have uninterrupted Coolege/University, Comedy, Alternative Rock and Hip Hop radio playing. This really eliminates the need for Pandora. If you’re short on tings to do, surfing around this menu can waste a few hours with ease.

What is Apple TV – What You Need For Set Up

- An HDMI Cable
- High Def TV with HDMI source and 720p Capabilities
- An Internet Network (Wired or Wireless)
- An iTunes Account
- A Broadband Internet Connection

That is it. Set up is simple and stress free, so even if you are electronically challenged, Apple TV offers no resistance there.

Now, Apple TV sets to come in 3 sizes, says reports
While Apple normally likes to keep its secrets secret, industry murmurs usually point to the truth well before an official announcement is made. Just like how the web circulated rumours that the company would produce a tablet months before the iPad became a reality, we’re now fairly certain that an Apple-branded TV set will land in 2012.

Now new word from an inside source suggests that the size of the TV sets has been confirmed. The news suggests that Apple will offer three different sized TVs, starting at 33-inches and maxing out at 55-inches.

The three sets will offer a differing range of specs, from OLED to LG’s Super HD technology. The source, who claims to be involved in one of the Japanese companies manufacturing the units, has revealed that the sets will be powered by a new Apple processor – the same one that will appear in the iPad 3.

It will tie in with a new operating system that’ll mix elements of the current Apple TV and Siri. With Siri functionality, users will be able to control the set and search for any content using voice, or using any iDevice as a remote.

While this kind of news should be taken with a pinch of salt, it’s worth noting that the Apple TV rumours are, on the main, all playing the same tune. The general theory is that Apple will have its TV sets on sale in time for the Olympics in June.

Infinite Black 2
In new VIERA models, contrast in brightly lit locations has been significantly improved. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks even when viewed in bright surroundings. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.
Full-time 1080 Moving Picture Resolution
VIERA plasma TVs have 1,080 lines of moving-picture resolution. Newly developed phosphors with minimal afterimages and a new motion compensating technology have made it possible to render faster-moving images with greater sharpness. This far surpasses the APDC moving-picture resolution measurement standard of 5 seconds by providing a moving-picture resolution of 1,080 lines at the 1.5-second level. And it shows the inherently clear motion of VIERA TVs in both 2D and 3D images.
3D 24p Cinema Smoother
VIERA incorporates technology that analyzes picture information in both the preceding and succeeding frames, and creates a precise supplementary frame between them. This suppresses the jerky effect seen in movies so playback is smooth and natural-looking. The distinctive tonal qualities and atmosphere of the movie are preserved and you enjoy extremely lifelike 3D images.
Full 3D
600Hz
Frame Sequential Technology
Panasonic uses Full-HD Frame Sequential technology to create its 3D images. Images recorded in 1920 x 1080 pixels for both the right-eye and the left-eye alternately flash on the screen at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames per second. When you view the screen through active-shutter glasses that open and close each lens in sync with the alternating images, you see breathtaking FULL HD 3D pictures with stunning power and realism.
Dynamic Contast
By combining the highly light-transmissive IPS Alpha Panel and high-brightness backlight, Panasonic has attained both high contrast and low power consumption. Also, by detecting the contrasting parts of the scene, the backlight is adjusted to maintain a brightness that is optimal for each area. Deep blacks are reproduced with no fading. The contrast between the brilliance of diamond-like stars and the deep black of the night sky produces a sharp, crisp image.
600Hz Sub-field Drive
600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into dots. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.
3D Image Viewer
It's easy to view 3D photos and movies you shot yourself on the big VIERA screen. After shooting with your 3D-compatible camera or camcorder, simply insert the SD card into the slot on a 3D-compatible VIERA TV. The viewing is incredible, with images so realistic it feels as though you're right back in the moment. You'll find that life's special moments are even more memorable when you preserve them in 3D.

VIERA Connect
The exciting world of IPTV, centering on TV, is about to begin for the enjoyment of the entire family. Now you can enjoy intuitive remote control while relaxing on the living room sofa, with a wide variety of content at your fingertips. In the near future, TV will also be able to link with a tablet device to achieve completely new forms of entertainment that you've never before experienced.
VIERA Link
VIERA Link interlinks the operation of a variety of AV devices, so you can operate them all using only the VIERA remote control. Setup is easy simply connect the compatible devices to each other via HDMI cables.
VIERA Remote
VIERA remote is a TV remote controller app for select Panasonic VIERA HDTVs that uses your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad (of iOS 4.2 or later) to control TV channel selection, input selection, and volume control. Included features are gesture control, a keyboard user Interface, and a power off button.
Long Panel Life, Up to 100,000 Hours
One important way consumers can protect the environment is by choosing high-quality products and taking care of them so they last for a long time. A high-quality VIERA HDTV can help. Thanks to a newly designed phosphor process and rear panel process, our plasma panels last for up to 100,000 hours before the brightness decreases by half. That's more than 30 years of viewing 8 hours a day.
Environment-Friendly Panel
Mercury and Lead Free Plasma Display Panel Panasonic is committed to making our products more friendly to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use.

3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:
A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Samsung 55 Inch Glasses Free 3D Smart TV Prototype Review

Samsung has made a new 55 inch smart television in glasses-free technology.
To prove that glasses free 3DTV does not need to be shown on a tiny screen, Samsung’s new prototype 3DTV comes on a massive 55 inch screen and is completely glasses free. Currently for the glasses free 3D to be effective, it needs to be shown on a small screen such as the Nintendo 3ds.
A 55-inch 3D LCD TV viewable without special glasses at FPD China 2011. The new 3D LCD TV reportedly had a functional switch between 2D and 3D modes. The TV is equipped with an LCD panel whose optical refraction index can be changed in front of an LCD panel used for displaying images. Samsung believes this prototype will be commercially available in about three years.
Autostereoscopic technology allows the viewer to view 3D images without the need of special eyewear. Toshiba and other companies are developing similar technology, banking on commercial and consumer calls for glasses-free viewing of 3D images.
Make sure when checking out any TV, from LCD TVs to 3D TVs that you check the best available resources.
Samsung 55inch Glasses Free 3DTV Supports 9 Viewing Angles. This 55-inch display is able to accommodation nine different viewpoints for glass-free 3D viewing. The Prototype is also relying on a direct-lit CCFL backlight, although Samsung notes that would likely be replaced with an LED backlight before it actually hits the market

The only problem is that the TV may not be with us for three long years (which is exactly how long James Cameron said to wait before buying 3DTV). By that time there will probably be lots of glasses free 3DTV sets for sale.
